We worked with AFS and their partners to develop the summit concept, brand, event management, promotional activity and media engagement. And subsequently to develop a briefing paper for the Ministers following the summit. This paper translated the insights form the community into actionable policy recommendations.

Along with panel discussions that brought to life the lived experiences of Asian New Zealanders, highlighting both challenges and resilience.
In working with AFS to develop the briefing paper, "Our approach was to not just capture community voice, but to deliberately align them with government priorities," explains Dr Tim Antric, the project lead. "This allowed us to make a clear, evidence-based case for the specific barriers, solutions, and investment needed to advance Asian mental health in Aotearoa."
The results provided AFS with a structured framework for ongoing policy advocacy, practical recommendations for system improvement, and a strong foundation for future funding requests. As was critical throughout, the process privileged the voices and experiences of Asian communities
"This project was about more than just running a summit," reflects Kokoro Frost, the project manager. "It was about creating a sustainable pathway for AFS to influence policy and catalyse the systemic change their communities so desperately need."
We look forward to continuing to support AFS across their mahi. And to deliver future Asian Health and Wellbeing Summit
