Making a little go a long way with Suzuki

Challenge

When the NZ Government launched the Clean Car Programme, each and every car brand had something new to say about their prices. Every new car sold was eligible for a rebate or a penalty on its fuel efficiency. Combined with a flood of new brands entering our shores, and more diverse products on offer, the marketplace was noisy and competitive. Suzuki needed to stand out, and assert its place as the Fuel Economy Experts.

Solution

The strategy was a two hander – the first was a brand campaign to claim the Fuel Economy Experts position. Little Goes A Long Way celebrated all the ways we kiwi’s can make a dollar stretch. Brought to life with ‘fuel economy dad’ living his best life. Set to a soaring opera, it set the stage for the follow up retail campaign once the rebates came into effect. Something To Sing About was the perfect encore. With the Clean Car Rebates, we sung our offering from the rooftops, reaching further and wider and louder. Together, both campaigns delivered great results for Suzuki. It established a new, playful tone of voice, and cut through a very noisy marketplace.
